BA CityFlyer to set up Manchester focus city this summer.


British Airways (BA, London Heathrow) has announced that this summer, it will launch seven new routes from its Manchester Int'l focus city using EMB-190 equipment operated by its BA CityFlyer (CJ, London City) unit.

The IAG International Airlines Group carrier said in a press release that from May, it will begin summer-only direct flights from Manchester to the popular Spanish sunspots of AlicanteMalagaIbiza, and Palma Son Sant Joan, the Greek island of MykonosNice in the South of France, and a weekly service to London City Airport.

All the new return British Airways flights from Manchester will operate once a week at weekends, with the exception of the Ibiza route which will operate three times a week, and will provide more than 35,000 extra seats from the North West.

Currently, BA Cityflyer's operations focus on London City and London Stansted airports.
